[Wrist Research] Findings

Thanks to so many customers, I've been able to build up this unprecedented [Wrist Research], with no model to follow anywhere else. Facing each different wrist, one by one — making, fitting, and fine-tuning again and again. Through that accumulated process, I've pursued a "comfort" that can't be described by numbers alone.

At the center of that research is the inner curve. Carefully observing the relationships between bone structure, tendons, and muscles, I keep re-examining the shape in 1mm increments, continuing to search for a curve that naturally follows the wrist.

<Comfort is different for everyone>

Just as with clothes and shoes, some people prefer a fit that hugs the body closely, while others prefer a bit of ease. Jewelry is the same. What feels "comfortable" is different for every person, and can't be expressed by measurements alone. That's exactly why I value not just the dimensions, but the comfort each customer actually feels.

<There's a reason behind every inner curve>

What I'll introduce here are three representative types of inner curve. In practice, many more variations exist, born from this ongoing research. Each shape was created to suit a different bone structure and sense of fit. I hope you'll take a look at the differences.

(because the abductor pollicis longus and

　extensor pollicis brevis tendons, which connect to the thumb, are visible)

・The degree and angle of left-right variation differ from person to person

・No two wrists share exactly the same size and curve

・Thickness ranges from slim to substantial

・The top can be flatter or more rounded

・The ulnar styloid process may or may not be prominent

　(the bone that's a bit like an "ankle" on the wrist)

・Wrist size is often on the slimmer side, 12cm to 17cm

・Slim and flat in thickness

・The top tends to be flatter

・Only slight left-right variation

・The ulnar styloid process is fairly prominent

・Wrist size is often 15cm to 16cm

・The abductor pollicis longus tendon is barely visible

・The extensor pollicis brevis tendon is also barely visible

・Rounded at the top

・Only slight left-right variation

・The ulnar styloid process isn't very prominent

・A solid, sturdy bone structure

・Wrist size is often 18cm or larger

Just as everyone has a different expression, atmosphere, and charm, everyone's wrist shape and preferred fit is different too. That's exactly why I keep making jewelry that values a "comfort" that can't be measured by numbers alone.
